We provide IRD-compliant salary sacrifice templates and an employer code your staff can take to any participating retailer. No legal fees, no guesswork.
Your employees choose their bike
Staff visit any participating retailer, pick their bike (any brand, any model eligible for the scheme), and the purchase is processed through The Wheel Deal. Ownership passes immediately to the employee — no lease agreement.
Payroll does the rest
The employee's salary is reduced by an agreed amount each pay cycle over 12 months. No ongoing admin for your team — it runs through your normal payroll process.

Any bikes or scooters, or e-bikes or e-scooters rated at 300W or below are eligible. Participating retailers include all Electrify NZ stores and many independently owned bikes stores, meaning we can usually supply the brands that your employees prefer. We can advise on participating retailers in your area.

The scheme is exempt from Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) under section CX 19D of the Income Tax Act 2007. This means the employer will not incur FBT liabilities when providing bikes through the salary sacrifice programme.

If an employee leaves the company during the 12-month salary sacrifice period, they are required to pay the remaining balance of the bike cost. This will be deducted from their final pay.
